Sunday Morning Storms

If you are a Kansan, you know this special feeling. You hear a rumble, you smell the air, and see the clouds rolling in and getting dark. Yep, a storm is brewing. That was happening this morning as I was checking pastures and it just put a huge smile on my face. The air is crisp, the crops will get some moisture (we hope and pray) and the sheep don’t mind it at all. The average rainfall for the month of August here is about 3 inches, not a whole lot especially where we don’t have water pivots in our crop fields. We rely on this rain also to fill our ponds that the sheep, and other wild animals can drink from. I took this picture about an hour ago, with my hopes up but still no rain……….yet.
