Rain, rain, go away?!?

Last week I wrote about how the average rain fall is about three inches for the month of August. Well, we got a whole heck of a lot of rain in the past week! Well over three inches in about seven days. This is not something we are normally use to. We have puddles and little ponds all in our pastures that were not there a week ago. Yes our milo looks great and the sheep are all happy with the green grass, but there are things that can be a hassle. Gates in the pasture can be pushed down because of the force of flow from the water, which is what I had to keep an eye out this week. There are some fences we need to fix, but we can’t right now because there is too much standing water. The mud is a mess and everywhere, but it’s a small hassle to deal with for this unique time of year.
