Infinity Pasture: Green Feed Every Day of the Year

At Simon Sheep Farms, we believe better lamb starts with better feed. That’s why we developed a revolutionary approach to sheep nutrition — one that provides fresh, living green plants 365 days a year, no matter the weather, without relying on trucked-in hay or grain.

We call it the Infinity Pasture.

What Is Infinity Pasture?

Infinity Pasture is an innovative indoor sprouting system that grows fresh barley sprouts daily — providing our flock with a consistent, nutrient-rich diet year round, even though the harshest Kansas winters.

It’s not just a supplement. It’s the foundation of our feeding program and a key part of why our lamb is different — cleaner, healthier, and more flavorful.

Why It Matters

1. Nutrients That Work Harder

Barley sprouts grown through the Infinity Pasture system are more than just green — they’re alive. This means the nutrients and vitamins inside them are more bioavailable to the sheep than dried feed or hay. In other words: the animals absorb more of what they need, leading to stronger immune systems, healthier growth, and better overall well-being.

2. Year-Round Green Without the Guesswork

Most farms rely on weather, land, and luck to provide fresh forage. Not us. Infinity Pasture ensures a daily foundation of high-quality green feed, rain or shine, summer or snow, on pasture or in the pen. This consistent nutrition makes for less stress on the animals — and more consistency in the quality of our lamb.

3. Less Water. Less Land. Less Waste.

Barley sprouts grow fast — just 6 days from seed to feed. They require minimal water and energy inputs, especially compared to the resources needed to produce and store hay or grain. By using this system, we’ve reduced the amount of land we need for feed production, lowered our input demands, and eliminated much of the storage and transport waste that plagues traditional operations.

A Simon Innovation

Infinity Pasture isn’t an off-the-shelf solution. It’s the result of years of problem-solving by Stephen Simon, fourth-generation farmer and co-owner of Simon Sheep Farms.

Stephen designed, developed, and patented the system himself — drawing on both deep agricultural experience and a determination to do better by the land and the animals. What began as an experiment in efficiency became a fully realized, self-contained system that’s now central to how we raise lamb on the farm.

It’s an innovation rooted in heritage, and a vision for the future of farming.

Why It Matters to You

When you buy lamb from Simon Sheep Farms, you’re getting more than a product — you’re supporting a farm that takes the long view. Infinity Pasture helps us raise lamb that’s:

  • Healthier, because of steady, digestible nutrition

  • More sustainable, because of reduced resource use

  • Better tasting, thanks to reduced stress and better digestion

It’s one more way we’re raising animals with intention — and offering you food you can feel good about.
